We revised our itinerary as previous was too long on poor roads:
Got off at 7 with giant boxed breakfast = rolls, muffins, bananas, grapes,
butter, jam. Arrived at Jaipur about noon. Saw the Hawa Mahal,Palace of the
Winds, then wen to the city palace for tour, and on to amber fort for tour
without guide. Sheesh Mahal is completely renovated – had just begun when we
were there 20 yrs ago. Lots more to explore in Jaipur old city.

Continuing on our way, we passed the derailed train we'd seen on the news
last week – over a dozen cars still at the side of the tracks tossed about
Later we came to big traffic jam – couldn’t figure what exactly happened, but
traffic completely snarled – we eventually took a side dirt road and came
back to the toll road some km down the road. Arrived at Bharatpur hotel just
before 7:30 |
