Two great weeks in March skiing in Ischgl/Galtur in Austria and Zermatt. In Ischgl, a first icy day was followed by a week of storms dropping a foot of new snow each day.

Zermatt had less new snow but made up for it with spectacular views -- the Matterhorn stayed out for almost the entire week.

One of European skiing's appeals is the relaxed pace. Here skiers take a break at about 10,000' with the Monte Rosa massif reflected behind them.
