Yangtze river -- 3 Gorges |
2001: Ever since the
decision was made to build the Three Gorges Dam, a cruise through the gorges
has taken on a new perspective as many travelers realize that time is running
out for experiencing one of the world's great natural wonders. Rising out of
the Tangula Mountain in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the mighty Yangtze River
twists and turns for about 3838 miles and empties into the East China Sea. The
river is the longest in China and the third longest in the world after the
Amazon and the Nile. It has always been a lifeline for transporting people,
products and everyday supplies Dazu Buddhist Sculptures YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE 11/3 Saturday
